What does “advocacy” mean in the PTA?
In the PTA, advocacy simply means speaking up and taking action to support the needs of children, families, and schools. It can be as simple as sharing a concern with your child’s teacher, volunteering at a school event, or contacting a local leader about an issue that affects students. Every parent and caregiver can be an advocate. Together, our voices help make our school and community stronger.

- Share helpful resources and updates to keep families informed and connected.
- Offer simple steps and tips for how to advocate, whether it’s in your child’s classroom or at the county level.
- Host trainings, webinars, and events that make it easier to get involved.
- Encourage families to attend town halls, public hearings, and School Board meetings to share their perspectives.
- Send out surveys and feedback opportunities so we can represent your views accurately.
